our breath is our closest companion throughout our life — from our first breath in this world to our last.
through simple, rhythmic changes in the breath pattern, active breathwork can serve as a way to create space for embodied awareness and gentle transformation; a physical, emotional, and mental experience that can allow individuals to feel lighter and in deeper connection with both their body and mind.
-
breathwork is the practice of consciously manipulating the way our body inhales and exhales. by changing the pattern in which we breath, we can bring the body to rest + relaxation, clarity + focus, or altered states of consciousness.
through intentional, repetitive changes to the breath pattern over a period of time, active breathwork can serve as a catalyst for changes in one’s physical, emotional, and mental experience.
-
i offer breathwork practices that range from up-regulative, active, and long-form experiences to down regulative, meditative practices to help with sleep, anxiety, coherence, and slowing down.
the practice of active breathwork that i facilitate is a holotropic-inspired three-part breath.
-
an active breathwork practice that is up-regulative can be stimulating to the physical, mental, and emotional body. active breathwork should not be practiced in bodies that are currently pregnant or have a history of the following: severe asthma or epilepsy, high blood pressure, heart or lung complications.
